Re: Upload Speed
FIOS or another Fiber Optic connection speed.
OR move out of the US.
The US has terrible infrastructure compared to that of say, Europe.
I myself am 30mb Download and 0.98mb upload.
Cable, DSL, and Sattelite pretty much suck in the US. A lot of it is running through lines that have been in the ground longer than I have been alive.

Re: Upload Speed
U can usually pay extra for more upload with your net provider. I only get 10 down but i get 2 up. I pay extra for the upload speed.

Yeah i only get 4.5 mbs down but get 2mbs up at the basic package. that upload could bottleneck you that is for sure. your ping and download are more then enough though.

Re: Upload Speed
Its not the infrastructure that is slowing your upload speed. Its the equipment and the way its built. Most standard equipment is built to do at the most 3mb upload. You have several options depending on what providers you have in your area. One is you can go with a Fiber connection. Something like Fios if its offered in your area. Check with other providers in your area, not just the big named ones. Two is you check to see if the Cable company in your area provides what they call a business class. Most often they offer this, it can offer up to a 5mb upload. Last you can check to see if any provider offers dsl bonding. This takes 2 dsl ckts and bonds them together to create one large ckt. What we offer in this platform can do 30 down and 5 up. Other than changing the ckt type you have, there is nothing you can do to your PC to get higher upload speed. Speed is hard set in the provides equipment.

Are you lagging in EQ tera? your latency looks great or are you bottlenecking somehow?

Re: Upload Speed
I will try that Ron. Lag comes and goes and I have a sneaking suspicion that I know what it is - if it is indeed possible.
I noticed yesterday that I had zero lag all day long but, my wife returned from her run and hopped on her computer. She utilized two programs, facebook and dailymile and my computer immediately got crushed with lag. So I'm wondering if her computer actually has a virus that is consuming massive bandwidth? Is that possible?

Re: Upload Speed
only thing it could be with your connection is something hogging up with what little upload you have, EQ does not need a lot of upload but it needs some.Terakathis wrote:I will try that Ron. Lag comes and goes and I have a sneaking suspicion that I know what it is - if it is indeed possible.

Re: Upload Speed
Wow never did those tests before, very cool. My connection is worse than I thought, says it is a Grade C connection and I am slower than 53% of the US! yipes They keep saying they are upgrading the cable lines out here...in the city it is like 3 X faster than out here, but hopefully moving further out.
My ping is WAY higher than yours Tera, I'm guessing high ping is bad. I see I am 50 miles away from the server which seems pretty far considering much closer cities.
