There is a lot of noise on the EQ forums so I'm sure a lot of people don't read them. Here is something useful from the noise. A dev answered the exact information.

1 characters - 1x
2 characters - 1.38x
3 characters - 1.68x
4 characters - 1.92x
5 characters - 2.16x
6 characters - 2.2x

Is now:
1 characters - 1x
2 characters - 1.58x
3 characters - 1.92x

For anyone that doesn't feel like doing the math, this means that each person will get, per kill:

100% xp solo
79% duo
64% trio
55.5% quadruple
50% quintuple
42.67% full grouped.

Your formula is wrong, the 6th person slot doesn't consume anymore xp than the 5th. Xp is divided 5 ways, but granted out to 6 players. It was changed years ago (in 2003 lol) where the last person was nothing but bonus.

We've been testing this on the Test server for a few weeks, and some final tuning may be needed before it is released. The goal is to dramatically improve the experience gained by groups. The old group experience bonus ranged from 2% to 20% for a 6 person group. The new bonus will range from 20% to 80%. In addition, the 6th person added to a group will not count when experience is divided. This means that in a group of 5 the total experience is divided by 5 then distributed to each member. A group of 6 will also only have the total experience divided by 5 before it is distributed to each member. Due to this large increase in group experience, we will be reducing the experience modifier given in Planes of Power zones. Those zones had a dramatic experience bonus. These zone-specific experience changes are more than offset by the increased group bonus.”

The first 5 are correct, but the full group bonus would work out to 51.2 percent of each kill for everyone

Fun fact based on mercs, they take a portion of xp, but dont contribute to the bonus. so with mercs in a full group for example

5 Real 1 Merc- 50%

4 Real 2 mercs- 44.4%

3 real 3 mercs- 38.4 % to each player
