So my girlfriend sends me an email while I'm deployed and tells me that she didn't know how to shut off windows 8 so she has been hard shutting it down..... Then she said that it has the blue screen of death that pops up when she turns in it and it is requiring a restore disk. Is there a way to restore this without losing all content on my computer? I would go crazy if I had to reset all my toons UI's....
I know it's hard to really diagnose and solve the issue when I'm not home, but I want to try and get some idea's so that it's a smooth fix for when I get home so that I can raid that Tuesday.

Check and see if it has a restore point saved , if so you can then select that and restore the computer that way.

Find the Linux knoppics iso an burn it to CD or DVD whatever u have on that computer. Then you sent it to boot from CD an Linux will load an its easy you will see. It boot an runs off useable memory. It will look like a cool version of Windows desktop. So it will be ready to use from there as its about like burning files to CD from Windows. I hope this helps you

This is what I would try first. Restoring from a save point has worked for me in the past when I have had problems with computer settings wigging out or crashes etc.Arcolin wrote:Check and see if it has a restore point saved , if so you can then select that and restore the computer that way.
