New EQ Environment

Can someone please post the process for transferring all my char/game stuff to a new setting, be it a new PC or say, live-->beta?

Hopefully soon I'll get a SSD to play from per Krazeie's wisdom, but for now, I have to raid, and after moving EQ to a less-crappy computer a month or so ago, I now have to configure my stuff for Beta on that new-to-EQ computer.

I copied my UI_Ruar_luclin.ini to EQ Beta directory as the UI_Ruar_beta.ini
I copied my Ruar_luclin.ini to EQ Beta directory as Ruar_beta.ini
Nothing works. Hotkeys, spells sets, chat windows, audio triggers... it's all a fluster cluck.

Please help. And maybe stickie it since 1-if I had hair it'd probably be blonde, 2-I'm not the ONLY one with this problem, but probably one of 2 or 3, and 3-Once I get the SSD for EQ, I get to rinse/repeat.

Also, please post info on how to get the audio triggers to transfer over as well. Thanks a bazillion in advance!

I could have sworn we had a post in the beta section, but I can't find it now.

All mine worked for me though. I did just like you said too.

Copied my UI and other .ini file from my folder in live to the same folder in beta
You have to change the server name so it recognizes it on beta but I'm guess you did that part. You can't just copy/paste the folder you have to edit it as well.

Alll my spells hotkeys window set up work.

As far as audio triggers those sound bites you use have to be copied over separately too, or else all you get is the basic sounds, not the ones like we have that say "run to banner" or "run to campfire" you definitely want those. But those are the same deal, copy the 'contents' of the audio triggers folder in live to inside the audio triggers folder on beta.

I know that wasn't much help (I'm at work). I can post too when I get home if someone else doesn't.

ok you need to copy over and then rename the following files from you live Eq folder.

UI_Krazeie_luclin.ini
Krazeie_luclin.ini
eqlsplayerdata-Krazeie.ini
Eqclient-Krazeie.ini

Copy the above to your beta folder and the rename them to

UI_Krazeie_beta.ini
Krazeie_beta.ini
eqlsplayerdata-Krazeie.ini
Eqclient-Krazeie.ini

I would then load up the game and you should be good to go
