Need opinions really quick, must purchase by next Tuesday to count against 2013.
(1) what is the best bang for the buck from the below list - between the bundles vs. single purchases, buy the MOBO separately? Also whether 10cache is more worth it or get the 6core version?
(2) assuming the best bang for the buck combo, what else do I need to purchase (MOBO, memory) that will be compatible with it?

This is what I can get that is still in stock and the prices. I left out the recent generation SSDs as even with the discount I still think it's too expensive!

can't go wrong with more space on the SSD they look all about the same as far as what you have listed below.

for ram you want about 16GB or 32 GB if you really need more but, most of the time 16 GB is good enough. I run 2 real versions of eq and all my parse stuff and rarely lag now.

Generally with a new processor you have to get a new motherboard.

overall though if you can find this build all together minus a video card get that it will save you some time.. and maybe some cost.

Just remember this, if you use 32 gig's of ram, you'll need to buy an OS that can use that much such as Windows 7 pro. Windows 7 home premium can only use up to 16gb. Something to keep in mind. As for processor, if you aren't going to overclock at all, you don't really need a "k" series cpu. As for SSD's, more size is good, but look at the IOPS of the drives. The lower the IOPS the slower the drive. The whole point to an SSD is for speed. If you don't need the speed and want more size, a good 7200 rpm hard drive like the WD black series do just fine.

I'll probably get 16G of the DDR3 memory and run Win 7 home premium.

Not good enough to overclock .. should I even consider it?

General PC set ups is 1 SSD for the OS and games, a 2nd HD for the photos/videos and music.
Are the 530 series SSDs fast enough you think?

Any input on whether the ASUS Z87-DELUXE is a good MOBO?

Asus boards are generally good Motherboards you should have no problems as long as the specs match up with that you want to put into your system and what hardware cards you are bringing over or plugging into it. Overclocking is up to you but, if you do you want to consider some extra fans or means of cooling beyond the default stuff they give you in the Case box.

The X79 Chipset is 3 years old and does not support as many Sata 3 connections as the new Z87 chipset.

I would go with:

CPU: Core i7 4770K
RAM: 16 GB DDR3 @ 1866 MHz (look at Corsair Dominator Platinum)
Mobo: ASUS Z87 deluxe is good, but if you can get a ROG board from ASUS such as the Maximus VI Formula

I would use a SSD for your Boot drive. Either an Intel SSD or a Samsung 840 Pro or EVO. Your secondary (storage) drive can be a SSD or a WD Black 2TB

GPU: I have used both AMD and Nvidia. Some generations AMD is better, other generations Nvidia is better. If going with a current generation gpu, Nvidia is better (unless you like your graphics card to also replace central heating in your home, in that case go with AMD).

PSU: Corsair or Seasonic. Look into the Corsair AX860i

Of course all of this is massive overkill for EQ.
