Horrible Lag with new Computer

I got a new computer a few week ago, but for whatever reason with all my graphics turned low and all effects turned off I lag super hard during events like West Karana raid or HOF1. Anyone have any advice to speed this up? Its an AMD 8 core processer with an ATI Raedon 7600 graphics card, 12 GB of RAM. My internet is 13MBPS.

Are you running a anti-virus if so try turning it off while you play. It might reduce some of your lag. Also you could try repatching.

The only anti-virus I have is Windows Defender. On other events its not bad at all but on WK when we have all those adds I can hardly move. Even when we do a series of MGB's it lags me even though i turn off spell effects.

be sure to turn your Journal (alt j) off

if you are running a /log

be sure to let windows and your anti virus know its "ok" for your parser to input information into the eq folder while its active.


other than that. box it up, ship it back and break out the old puter

That really sounds like some kind of bottleneck between CPU and Graphics card.
